Bump or blister like thing on trimacs tail.

noticed this bump a few days ago it has gotten bigger. I have done water changes everyday at least 50 percent. Does anyone no what this is. I havent interduced new fish in over a yr. I watched a video of big mac andy woods old trimac and i noticed a bump on its tail in the same general spot. Help would be apprecated thanks.

It has a little white thing coming out of it. Like a string maybe infected i have no idea i know he wasnt hurt he didnt bump it on anything

Might be Lymphocystis. Looks similar to the Lymphocystis growths on a Mbuna I once kept.

Broken boney ray tail. It will get better on its own. But your fish will always have scar tissue. Small white blob or mark. Look closely and you should see it's on a boney ray.

Thanks guys and Andy i will look closer when i get home. I really like this fish hope its not lymph. I dont now how he would of got that. Nothing has been added to his tank since i got him.

Could easily be lymph but shouldn’t be so red.

Yes the fish eats like pig never wants to stop. Doesnt lymph kill the fish in most cases. I did look closer at it the white thing coming out might be a bone im not to sure. It is awfully red

Lymph. Rarely kills and it's not very contagious. It's an Iridovirus, sort of like a wart. It can lay dormant in a fish and an outbreak might never occur, or it can manifest itself if the fish is weakend. Lymph can eventually go away on its own if the fish's immune system strengthens.
