I don’t know
I know these threads are the majority of the CA forum but I couldn’t find any in the catfish forum.

What catfish have you found to be interactive and good as solo occupants.
Let’s say for 3 standard tank sizes
40b 36x18
75 48x18
180 72x24

Some that jump out are wyckii and apurensis.

Used to have a vulture, active but not interactive
Thank you

Must say I’m ready to get an oscar for this reason. Hard to find oddballs I like that are interactive. Wyckii and apurensis will inevitably need a tank wider than 2’.

Nothing compares to an Oscar- unfair comparison.
I have Red Devils, barred midas, blackbelt, jags- nothing compares to Oscars.
I have some tanks I’m looking to change up- neither of those fish are particularly active- hence why I was looking at them.
Pseudopimelodidae Buffonis or a fowleri would be nice but seem unattainable

Can you tell us more, please, on what kind of activity and interaction you are looking for?

Bufonius is sometimes available, as exemplified above. Fowleri is never. Apurensis is available.

I’d like a fat goofy fish that doesn’t swim too much.
Reckonizes me, beg for food.
Doesn’t hate ppl
Can live alone or with small fast fish like guppy’s that I won’t mind losing a few here or there.
Can be used for culling fry fromy large cichlid pairs.
Looks like something from star wars
Can live at least a few yrs in a 75.
I have 4 6’ tanks but at present, so there is a long term solution available if necessary

Only thing I can think of is a small freshwater specie of puffer.
