What do you do for a living?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Popped on.

What projects did you undertake as a carpenter? Woodworking is such a fun hobby. I'm hoping to go Molecular biology or microbiology woth zoology
I posted earlier. I was a concrete form carpenter. Then worked with surveyors and became a layout carpenter. Mostly high-rise. Just finished to high-rises as the super. Gettin sorta tired. We work so many days and long hours in the USA. Want to enjoy some time now that I am getting on.
Don't give up on the Biology field. Just need good grades. Make sure you enjoy what you do! Makes it much easier. Do I enjoy what I do? A bit I suppose but I don't love it.

Been leading (mainly outdoor, adventure-based) team building and training programs for corporate groups for about 23 years now. It's high pressure but good fun running 'Survivor', 'Amazing Race', 'Beach Olympics' and 'Iron Chefs' kind of events.

On the side I've been acting as a wedding Celebrant for about 18 years and have had the pleasure of marrying over 1,500 couples at beautiful hotels and beaches (Phuket is one of SEA's premier wedding destinations).

A couple of years ago I started the world's first video-call based, online wedding and renewal of vows service, though truth be told it hasn't really taken off too much (due to no time yet to properly market the service, plus for many people I think it's just too new/strange of a concept -- I'm biding my time with it as a semi-retirement thing to do later (and when the newer, more digitally inclined younger generations gets older).

As I'm not a MFK vendor lol not sure I can paste a link (www.virtualonlineweddings.com) but it's 30% off for MFK members (and 50% off if you want to me to conduct a ceremony for a couple of your more amorous monster fish or dogs lol).

Seems like quite a few people do multiple things. Very active. My hats off to all of you> The wedding thing seems to be ahead of it's time. Maybe you can marry my oscars when I figure out which is male/ female.

Don't worry, as long as they love each other -- personally not my thing but VOWs services LGBTQ couples too.

Typically just a “lurker”, but this post is pretty interesting. I run a family owned restaurant out of New Orleans, La. At the same time I operate a health conscious meal prep company geared towards athletes and sold out of local gyms.

Some very interesting professions on here!

I went to school for dental assisting, office business administration, and now attending school for occupational Health and safety, currently working as an occupational health and safety field technician....they said the average person changes careers three time in their life time....I hope this is the last change for me haha

After many years as a high end Country Inn and country club executive chef I now sell high end food to the best of Connecticuts chefs......
Many cool posts here. I should say that Selling food is my third career. Went to college for Soviet studies and actually did a semester in the good old USSR....the country disintegrated as I graduated from college so I fell into the Music business managing first a national touring rock band and then The Ithaca Music Hall in Ithaca NY.....when that fell apart I took a restaurant job and rose quickly to executive Chef. 70 hours a week not including commute plus all holidays and weekends working got old after 15 years and I began selling for a high end company in 2004 ( not Sysco or USfoods!!!) and still am at it. Much better lifestyle than cooking although I was cooking on TV back in the day before celebrity chefs became a thing.....I could have a food network guy if I held on another few years!!
