I’m getting so antsy and really want to start water testing....
This afternoon it will be 4 days since it was sealed. Is this too soon? Should I just wait till Friday?

I feel so horrible for Oliver. Both girls have fry now. Jades babies are a few weeks old and Greenies wigglers are about to be free swimming. Poor boy is getting grief from both of them and has no where to go>.<

If you don't smell the vinegar odor from the silicone it's probably good to test.

From the building trades aspect, for testing windows we wait at least 7 days. Ultimate cure time is 14 days. Wait as long as you can.

Why 7 days for windows?

I guess I’ll just wait till Friday then. I was really hoping 4 days would be good enough. Haha. But I do understand that if I rush it I’m just asking for trouble.

This comes up all the time when doing mock up windows on construction projects. Usually use dow sealant but silicone is silicone.
The silicone needs cure time. You don't go by smell. 4 days would be pushing it. Warranty would be the full 14 days. Usually the glazers have us wait at least 7 days if possible. If I was sealing a tank I would wait as long as possible.

Are these basement windows? Or windows that could possibly be underwater?
I’m not questioning if it’s necessary, just surprised that it would be required to cure for so long on something that doesn’t have water pressure on it.

I’ll try to focus on how I’ll be rescaping the tank to keep me busy. I was getting tired of how it looked before so this has made the perfect excuse to redue it all.
