Bristle nose pleco with stingray

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Listen to these guys, they know their rays. I'm pretty overwhelmed tbh.

I also don't think the seller was being completely honest. i think he just wanted to sell you a fish.
He is honest ill send a pic wen i get the ray worst comes to worst I have to rehome the ray if it gets too big.

I think the whole "rehoming mentality" is disappointing if I'm honest. It clearly shows a lack of interest in properly caring for animals, and rather highlights how you are willing to compromise the health of another live being for your own entertainment. Give it a good life, or don't try to care for it. You will not be able to safely and humanely stock other fish with the ray, and I don't think you are ready to accept that. But good luck. I hope your tank goes well.

so many post mortem in south corea... aw man all ya'll probably have cancer from being badasses and building huge aquariums without safety equipment!
fishy fishy fishy!!!

Yeah, I'm not sure, this was awhile ago (10+ years) so I can't remember much, but I remember them being motoros and being a "mated pair", he probably meant a male/female pair. I'm not sure about that though because again I don't know much about stingrays as I never came across them very often, I can probably count on 1 hand the amount of times I had them in our store.

Well you dont have to listen to others at all. But as said the mentality of rehoming if the fish gets to big is so wrong. But hey its your choice and your morale. So how do you plan to filter your tank?

Just curious, has the seller sent you pics of said ray or is it from your LFS???

Eitherway, is there any chance to post a pic of the ray for us to see what it looks like? coz i for one would love to find a ray that would work out for life in a 200G...

Would be like when i first found out G.Polyuranadon were true freshwater eels all over again lol...

Well IMHO thats not enough filtration. As i stated on my grow out tank slighty smaller then 210g i have an large showerfilter with 70L biomedia run with a 10000L/h pump, one 120 moving bed sump with prob 40L k1 thats runned through by 2000L/h and one eheim cannister just for polishing the water and i still changed 80% twice a week.

I cant tell you what to do but i can give you my best advice as a raykeeper. Read up on rays on the forum and other places online and watch threads on diy filtration. Pondsolutions is where i find my inspiration on filterbuilds. There is some really nice threads here on the forum on both rays and filtration. IMO a 210 is way to small even for an hystrix/wallacei that are supposed to stay around 35cm wd. I recentlyg transfered my two growouts from their tank to a pond because the got to big for it and the are 18 resp 21cm wd. The growout tank is 2' wide
