If anyone knows Uaru (pretty sure that's how you spell it), you know they are sometimes called the poor man's discus because of how similar they behave and how similar their care is. Now, I want to know if there's anything like a poor man's Arowana. I want to know what behaves like an Arowana, but is cheap and stays small (8 inches or under), and is not hyper aggressive. If you know of anything, please let me know (if you can post a picture as well, that would be great).

Yeah,them too.....or how about a chalceus?
I've been thinking of one of those guys for a long time. I absolutely love them, but I would be worried about it growing too large. My lfs does sell them though (the pink tail variety). I think I might be willing to try one in my 55 gallon. If it eats my serpae and black phantom tetras, it'll be ok if everything ends up well in the end. I just worry it might outgrow my scape. You've probably seen the tank floating around mfk once or twice.

I've never kept them and wasn't aware that they grew to large sizes.
