Very cool richyrich I’m really digging the basket. Just curious how quiet does that run? Any splashing noise?

The water flowing into the basket is quiet but obviously the air stones in the k1 make a bit of noise but I don’t mind it and it’s out the utility room so doesn’t bother the misses.

I really enjoy watching when bass do this, it seems they never figure it out or the most stubborn of them wins. Kels are looking beautiful

There’s one smaller that tends to stay away but the other four are pretty much even and don’t seem to work it out. Luckily there’s never much damage.
I do enjoy seeing their colours, Mohawks and flared gills and pecs.

Big like on you pbass! Also like that you have some substrate! Hopefully I will never grow too old or get to lazy to have a substrate.
To me it is 1/2 of having an aquarium. Monster fish or not.

LBDave thanks pal, they can be skittish on times but when food goes in there’s a nice splash zone which I and the kids enjoy watching and getting soaked.
I also enjoy watching they’re predatory skills when feeding live foods on occasions ( Home bred feeders or sea shrimp)

Ha! I know what you mean! Mine are practically leaving the tank! I have a ritual with my 2 kels with target feeding. We outwit the oscars. Sometimes the kels will miss it (in the lights?) and the oscars get extra dinner but usually the kels are right on. It's usually when the kels leave their spot that they lose out. Greedy bastards! Stay in your corner!
And the oscars now spread out like an NFL defense when I am target feeding the kels.. Don't tell me these fish are not smart!

Definitely smarter than most think, that’s why I find them so interesting.
