KKP?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo

Some interesting parrot fish. One thing that I would like to double down on, is what AA previously stated;
I would never buy a kkp from ebay unless actual fish for sale is pictured.

…. to which I will add - shown under normal daylight. Seems like the store above likes to use NAN lighting in their tanks, which will give an artificial red glow to the fish. That, and buy what you personally like, new trade names are made up on a regular basis.

Oh yeah, they are definitely using some kind of red based lighting to bring out the red, but I like them more for the pattern than the intensity of red so even when they are more orange under more regular lighting I still think they are nice.

I actually got this guy as a regular crystal parrot but I really like him because he’s got a lot of pearling, almost like a carpintis

I got this fish yesterday. Labeled as blood parrot but it doesn't have the notch and the lips don't have the triangle shape

So one of my local fish stores, Monster Aquarium in Flushing Queens, gets in all kinds of funky parrots (I've seen Red and Yellow Mammons, Red and Yellow Ingots, the Super Red Crystals, the regular Crystals, Kohaku Parrots, and now apparently a Thai Silk Parrot thing that they are calling a Platinum Parrot???) but I've seen them have 6-8" Super Red Crystal Parrots so I'd say they can get fairly large.

I've also seen a Panda Parrot, which I suspect to essentially be a leusistic parrotfish that should end up a solid white color. They have black markings when they came into my job but over time the black faded.

Would love to get some of those!!!
