I think I pulled the wrong male.

Very nice. Very clean water. The fish, the gravel, the rocks. Your tastes and fine agree.

Thank you. It’s a nice compliment, this has been my least favorite tank decoration wise.

Fin has come back nicely, great color.

Thank you. Yes it’s finally grown back. Just a few splits now from being the boss man of the tank.

He's getting quite nice. How big is he now?

Thanks!
I ment to measure him during the water change yesterday, but got distracted. I think around 4 1/2ish inches maybe. He is officially a year old now, so not crazy growth. Then again this is the first time I’ve known the exact age of a fish I’m growing out.

Quick update on this guy. He was in with my females for a month and they beat him up a bit. His trailers still aren’t back yet since he’s had to grow back a good chunk of his dorsal fin. Now that he’s in with dad he’s looking a lot better, but unfortunately his hump went down. 902008D5-B02E-48F2-BDB2-21C8507ACABC.jpeg

Is it necessary to separate the paired GTs from the rest (assuming there are 5~7 GTs in the tank)?
Will the paired GTs harass/beat up the rest to death?

This guy is thick! Gonna be a stud for sure.
Thanks! He has gotten chunky. Haha

I only had three gts in the tank. He male, big female, and smaller female. The females got moved from my main tank because they were beating on my big male. Do to the stress he devolved a slight case of hith. Keeping pairs in my case is too stressful on the males. The females are so hyper aggressive and my males are passive with them.
And yes, I’ve had pairs kill other terrors and tank mates. It just doesn’t work long term.

Nice progress on this fella. I wish i can find some nice specimen where I'm at.

Thank you. Keep looking! It took me months to find my original male(this guys dad).

Thanks for the input.. The reason I asked is cause I'm contemplating adding another GT or more to my current stock (two GTs which I presume are a pair)
The current duo are getting along great, just the occasional chasing one another but nothing major.. I saw on other threads that it's advisable to have as many GTs as possible but I'm unsure if I wanna take that risk of changing the dynamics in my tank now..
Since you have experience keeping them for some time, what would be the ideal move here? Others who have opinions can chime in too, thanks..
