Hi guys, next Month im going to set up a 35 gallon/162 litres tank.
80x45x45 cm
31x18x18 inches
I really dont know how to stock it.
I think i prefer to have a “wet pet” or generally only one fish but a big one (obviously accordino to the dimensions of the tank)
Im not really an expert so i ask for your advice.
Thanks

Welcome aboard

What is the PH of your water out of the faucet?
Also make a list of what species of fish you personally like.
You will have to stay with fish species that don't grow over 4 inches to live comfortably in the 35 gallon.

A blood parrot would work well, as would a jack dempsey. Could go with a dwarf pike or a green spotted/figure 8 puffer (but those are brackish)

Edit: Before people claim this tank is too small for those fish, these fish hit 8 inches at most, and a 31"x18"x18" tank is large enough, the tanks width is over twice the fish's length so it can turn around fine and the tanks length is nearly 4 times the length of the fish's length, keep up on the filtration and the fish will be fine. Note if the dimensions are correct then this is actually a 43 gallon tank

Ive personally seen JDs over a foot long. Ive seen dozens larger than 8". Blood parrots get larger than 8" as well.

A single female jack dempsey and dithers might work, as I think they are smaller than males.
