please help me build my first predator tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i can add another 44 inch to the length if i remove a tank, and i also can add 6 inch to hight (tank i have is 44 inch long, 24 inch front to back, 18 inch high )
predator means what i want is -
mostly active , piscivore , love to hunt their food , if not possible at least carnivore, love live food, don't grow too big.

my most fav is goliath tiger and or payara/vampire tetra, but my tank is not suitable for them

assuming you add another 44 inch.. which equals 88 inch, 84 inch for simple calculation.... you are looking at 7ft x 2ft x 2ft

then i think you are opening up yourself to a lot more options, indo tigers, florida gars, asian arowana (subjective), kelberi peacock bass , bichirs, eels, etc

availability of indo tiger is very low, you can say rare, all types of gar ia available here, but as you know gars are stiff if i keep gar i need to add more space front to back, that i can't do, arwana is a good idea, here bichirs and snake head are available but still my tank is too small for all of them for long term keeping, and i don't like eels

What is so bad about golden wonder panchax?
They prey on small fish, jumping out of the water to catch insects, and have a pike like appearance, so they are predatory, not too big and available in India...strike! :)
Ok, got it, you are looking for bigger fish.
Going for 7 foot would be great for sure.
And you could keep bigger barracuda tetras in there too.

ok now confirm me, my community , for (7ft/2ft/2ft)
florida gar 1-2
senegal bichir 1-2
channa species 1-2
Acestrorhynchus minimus, or A. isalinae 1-2
i want 5 species, now i found 3
and any recommendation for 2 other species?
i don't know the difference between norman peacock bass and kelberi peacock bass, i f get the wrong fish ???
