a few days ago, while performing a water change on my 5 gallon top fin tank, i first noticed about 13 small baby guppies swimming around at the surface of my tank. Once i had removed all of the babies and put them in a safe, temporary nursery tank, i then noticed a red spike coming out of one of my female guppies anal area. I may add that she is most likely not the female who gave birth, seen as she showed no signs of pregnancy, is not fully developed, and hasn’t been in my tank very long. I began treating my whole tank with MelaFix, and then switched to some anti parasite food, but seen as the pellets are too big for my guppies to swallow, they can’t really eat much. i crush the pellets up just a little bit so that they can get them down, but i’m wondering if i’m dealing with a parasite, what it will do to my guppy, and what i need to treat with, because i’ve been trying to treat for about a week now, and have seen no signs of the spike disappearing. The spike also does appear to move in and out of the guppies anus, and at max i’ve seen probably about 2-3 millimeters of it. What do i do? Also are my baby guppies at sake? (unfortunately it is very very hard to get a picture of the area seen as she won’t stop moving)
