BP and Blue Acara stocking

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
as juvies stressed out in a fish store, temperament is impossible to decipher. Just look for the healthiest ones. Avoid ones that are hovering near the surface. Keep in mind to not go get the largest ones because you may end up with a bunch of males. Just look for healthy and active.

Thank you both. I love the electric blues, but the original still pops so nice. As said pick a few of the middle sized juices, avoid the smallest and largest ones, this will help make sure you get males and females.
50% a week isnt so much more water than 25%, but don't be stuck at that number. If you feel the need, up to 80% changes shouldn't hurt either(if you like to overfeed)

Blue acara are fine with bigger Cory's. I'll occasionally find a bitten tail fin on my columbian tetra or Cory's and I assume one of my acara pair is to blame. I wouldn't see too big of an issue with a pair being able to handle a BP if it decided to be a jerk.
A Male blue acara could probably be okay as well. My male takes charge of my tank pretty well.View attachment 1391155
How big is your acara?

The natural strain really bulks up comparatively and thanks. But, he and his lady have killed off 2 firemouths that were his size and a geo. Brasiliensis that was slightly bigger. My remaining brasiliensis is about 7.5 inches and I woke up today to see a few missing scales. So the acara punch hard
