Scomberoides but the one in the back of the photo looks like a red tail.

I'd go as far as to say those are all red tails. Scomberoides don't have the caudal point that these fish are displaying

That's what I was told I know the golden one is a red tail for sure no black dot under pectoral fin, but the other one is light silver and no red or orange yet, he was sold as a red tail, is it because he is still young that he has no color yet?

Correct. They don't really develop their color ime until about 6", and they can lose in when stressed. A fresh import in a sterile lfs tank with bright lights could easily be diluted looking, only to color up nicely when you bring it home

Okay thanks for your info was really hoping that they were tats Knotts coms I've heard a lot of horror stories about them not lasting long mine are all eating and healthy except in that second picture it's Ben's got torn up a little bit by one of my wolf fish so I had to separate them anyway you can look at that picture with the torn-up fins and assure me that it's not fin rot or anyting because he was getting chased around by my golden wolf fish to be safe I put melafix in there anyway and aquarium salt

Fin damage from gold wolf bothering him, or fin rot? His fins were perfect until I put them together

Looks like the gold wolf got the red tail good.
