Hi all,

Just picked up these two beauties and was unsure if they are Blue Eye Cochliodon vs Suttonorum?

A: About 12"

Please let me know what you guys think and how to identify them?

Thanks in advance!

Look cochliodon.

Thanks for the reply!

How do you tell?

I read some articles online but its not really clear apart from the head shape...

Suttoni have spikes that protrude from the side of the body.

I see. They both have little spikes coming out of the ends of each plate/scale. Are those the spikes you are referring to or something more significant?

I did see that link previous.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Based on the lateral spikes you are referring to, I am assuming they are both Cochliodons?

Is that the clearest distinction between them?

Both look cochliodons. The obvious ones externally.

Thanks for all the responses.

So my next question is venting M/F.

I know they are not the best pictures, but any ideas?

They both look to be Cochliodon and it looks like a pair...12” male and 7” female. They look stressed and should darken up. Also, the big one needs to eat or be dewormed...looks skinny. Thrown in a bunch of driftwood...different types of wood. And also try raw sweet potato slices and cucumber to get it going
