Hey All,

Was wondering if someone had some advice on re leveling a large tank. My 230gal tank (6' x 3' x 3') over the last year had shown some signs of leaning back towards my wall. Any suggestions on ways to remove wooden shims or anything that could help this, that doesn't involve shutting the tank down (as i dont have a spare tank or places large enough to hold the fish currently in it) would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Not even have a room to get a rubbermaid stock tub drain all h20 n fish into it to be safe than sorry? Do you know extactly why its sinking towards the back? Your foundation? Support beams? Stand itself?

I'm not opposed to doing that, trying to see if there's anything that can be done. if the only solution is that, then i do it. My thoughts are that the stand was shimmed too much on the front and then as the floor underlay and whatnot settled, it has slowly been starting to lean back .

what floor is the tank on

Basement.
I would assume its just the wood/carpeting settling then. How bad is the lean? Whats the difference from the front to the back? Also, what is your tank made of

No more than 3-5mm at most I'd say. Its more than a 1/4" but less than a 1/2" thick glass

so about 3/16ths of an inch over 3 ft? I wouldnt worry too much about that unless your tank is older. Im not saying dont correct it, just that you could probably wait till you drain the tank for maintenance or something to correct it.

Throw them in 55 gal with your tank water.

Drain the tank readjust. Shoot your 55 gallon tub water back in with your fish and fill.

you’ll have a clean level tank in about 30-40 min.
