Is there a list with all the known Central America hybrids and gender fertility. I think it will be helpfull to anybody that want to start a hybrid project.
I automatically went to flowerhorn or Texas hybrid in my mind.If you're referring to flowerhorn, ZZ and gold base males have higher odds of being fertile but still a gamble. A Kamfa fertile male is like finding a needle in a haystack. Red Texas lower generation males are a needle in a haystack. The higher the generation the better your chances, but still a gamble. Females across the board...kamfa, zz, gb, and rt lay eggs more often than not.
If you're referring to pure centrals to cross together...as far as I know pretty much any are possible if you can get them to do the deed. I'm about 85% confident in that but gladly leaving that extra 15% to be corrected if I'm wrong. ???
I would assume so mainly just because most red Texas are made by breeding a female BP with a male Texas and then breeding the offspring with again with another Texas, so most red Texas tend to have 1/4 BP and 3/4 Texas. So if you would most likely end up with very few offspring that are born infertile but the majority would be fertile. What about this..
GT(m) x RTHF(f)
what are the chances to get a fertile male?
Both parents share GT blood but the mother is a red texas hybrid. Would the hybridization still create sterile males?
My red Texas female is flowerhorn/texas hybrid. Doesn't show any bp traits although yes there might be some in there. Would that change it up a bit?I would assume so mainly just because most red Texas are made by breeding a female BP with a male Texas and then breeding the offspring with again with another Texas, so most red Texas tend to have 1/4 BP and 3/4 Texas. Maybe, not a 100% certain tho. She is very nice looking either way tho. I know with FH atleast that, unlike the BP, it's very flip flop on which could be infertile/fertile. So honestly it's like the toss of a coin on whether or not it will be fertile. You could end up really lucky but then again you could end up with an infertile female. So all in all it's a gamble with all chips on the table. It would definitely be worth seeing a hybrid between those 2 tho. Personally I'd like to start a paratilapia polleni/FH cross project but I honestly don't know if it would even be possible to hybridize an African with a FH.My red Texas female is flowerhorn/texas hybrid. She seems to be a product of a few selective breeding programs, I cant imagine she was from a random spawn
