I would rather buy two FX6, but would like to save $100 and put it towards fish since these filters will be going on 120 gallon that is 60"X18.5X26"

My thought process was having a backup filter when I do cleanings.

2 - fx4 could make one biological / mech only and the other chem/mech only.

More options,

2 FX4. More surface agitation/flow options with more returns. Redundancy should a filter fail. 33% more volume to fill with your preference.

Correct me if I' wrong but 5300 l/hr vs 3500 l/hr as well!

If you want my opinion then I'd get 2 fx4, an aq110, a large sponge filter or two, and at least $20 worth of pothos. You will thank me later for the pothos.

Not sure a pothos would do well inside the filter. Pretty sure plants need light to live. ?

Lot of people have pothos roots inside the tank. Helps to clear nitrates.
