Hey guys,

I just got 15 rummy nose last night to begin what I was hoping to be a school of around 40 or so.

Within 12 hours I have lost 7, with a couple more looking not great.

There is 0 ammonia, nitrite and nitrate. No idea what is happening.

I am a very experienced fish keeper, keeping fish for more than 20 years and I've never seen anything like this.

Thoughts?

Could be some kind of pathogen or parasite thats specifically attacking the rummys. I lost a whole school of boesmani rainbows within the span of a week due to some kind of bacterial infection that seemed to only affect them.

I once put an unquarantined batch of cories in a 55 and within the day I had fish dying. By the end of the week I had lost 95% or so of my bottom dwellers. Didn’t affect my top dwellers whatsoever.

That to this day is my worse mistake.

I used to call them my canary fish making sure my breeding group of plecos and catfish were ok

Can u take a pix of them in their current holding tank? I like to see what could be the culrpit in its environment.

Rummynose are all wild caught, so they are not hardy. The last time I bought a dozen. First I acclimated them in a small tank by their own for a month and they did fine. Then I moved them to a community tank , only to see them die off one by one in 2 weeks.
