For the last 2 days my flowerhorn‘s has been floating backside up in the tank. I think he has bloat and hot sure what to do. He just stays in one spot kind of stuck to the filter. His stomach is bloated. Yesterday I did 2 Epson salt bath for him, each for 5 minutes. One in the morning and the other later at night. After each salt bath bath and I would softly massage his stomach to push all the fluid out of his stomach. He would act normal for. Awhile and then go back to floating backside up. He doesnt move at all and his stomach fills up again after a few hours. He is very lethargic. Doesn’t move at all until I come near the tank where he thinks I’m going to feed him. I haven’t fed him in 3 days. He will act like normal but then go back to the corner and float backside up and just sit there. The tank is a 75 gallon tank. 0 ammonia and 0 nitrites with 20 nitrite. He is about 8 inches long. The other flowerhorn is acting fine and swims perfectly. He is about 4 inches long. 3 days ago I gave him 4 pellets that were soaked in a epson solution . Not sure what to do at this point. I’ve read that at this point I should just take him out and euthanize him as he is probably going to pass. The only thing I could think of that might have caused this is I bought 16 Bueno Aires tetras as dither fish and within 3 days he ate them. I wanted to check with this group first before making that decision. Please help and tell me what you think could be wrong with the fish. Thanks. The last picture is him thinking I’m going to feed him.

Could internal parasites have caused the problem? I've never seen a fish do that before but if you added new fish and he ate them he could have caught something from them. It's just a hunch but you could try it. I hope he makes it.

In my experience, if a fish isn't swimming right it probably means there's something wrong with the swim bladder. Sometimes it can be treated and sometimes it can't. If you haven't yet, you should fast him for two or three days then feed a pea to try and clear his digestive tract.

That is what I'm not sure. How do I treat that?
Not sure if internal parasites or bloat.

The easiest way would be API general cure. You can pick it up almost anywhere that has fish and it helps with internal parasites. I would try fasting before medicating though.

I’d separate it. Lower the water level. Add some 1 tbsp per 5g if epsom salt and kanamycin. Hope for the best.

I checked in the fish around 4 pm after being out all day and saw him in the same position. Also noticed he was covered in small white dots. Looks like he has ick. Went out to the store and bought some super ick cure because that is all they had and medicated the tank. Ordered some ick-x but it won't be here until Tuesday. What I'm wondering is, could ick cause this type of behavior? I did notice him scraping himself on the gravel a lot the last few days but thought it was because of the new tank. The tank is currently at 85 degrees. Going to get some marine salt tomorrow to mix into the tank as well. Internet says to mix 1 tablespoon for every 5 gallons. Does that sound right? Below is a pic of what I believe is the ick on his head.

Does look like ich and can cause this behavior. You want 3 tsp per g dosing for ich.
