Hi, i'm new to this forum. what are some good tankmates for my FH, maybe some bottom-dwellers?

Honestly FH's are best kept alone. They can be absolutely brutal to other fish, granted I have seen it done before. Most I've seen are with American cichlids of similar size and aggression. If you want a bottom dweller I would recommend a cactus pleco just for the fact they get a lil extra armour compared to most. Also avoid fish that will stay 6in on down as they will become food. You could get a striped Raphael catfish but you probably will never see it again lol, they are strictly nocturnal and rarely come out if hiding. Honestly not much else I can think of that would live peacefully with a FH. Hopefully some others will chime in with their own experiences and ideas. Hope this helps tho.Hi, i'm new to this forum. what are some good tankmates for my FH, maybe some bottom-dwellers?

Yeah only ever had that problem with common plecs, I'm certain a cactus would do it too once it got big enough but they cap out around 14in from what I've seen so it would take awhile before it started causing problems I would think. My common didn't start acting out till he was around 14in and he was a mean fish. Killed 2 American flathead cats 8in, a smaller common pleco 8in, and my giant gourami 14in.I had a common pleco and flowerhorn use to beat it, pleco got huge and one day sucked on the fish body and since then started attacking it.
Only bad thing about adding a bichir would be they aren't the most aggressive eaters so it would likely be out competed by the FH for food. Unless you fed strictly at night when all the lights are off.How bout some bichirs?
