well it wouldnt be an aquarium or anything.just a rubbermaid stock tank in a garage.one day i'll just build a 500 gallon tank and get myself an umbee,dovii etc but for now im happy with that i have

Well no but it would be plenty big enough to grow out hundreds of fry quickly. Definitely not a display kind of thing lol. Nah my display tank atm is my 55g planted tank. Need to add more plants and neons but so far it's coming along nicely.
my display is my 125 barebottom tank with live plants,rocks,terracotta pots n pvc.looks pretty sweet. then i have a 100 gallon,75 gallon,55 gallon and 40 gallon for fry,55 is also used for growing lots of plants for my other tanks..i have vieja that love to eat plants so ive got to keep up with that.tons of hornwort and elodea for use
Lol had hornwort once but sadly the bladder snail I got ate it. Still trying to get rid of em.
i used to mass produce it in the koi pond i had for a few years,,ended up with trash bags full of it just trying to cut back on it.its a really good plant to remove nitrates
Hahaha yeah my Oscars would've gladly ate it up like they did with the pound of duckweed I had.
i guess my oscar is the odd one.he leaves plants completely alone.125 was heavily planted with soil and everything.never again..was a pain in the neck to clean.now im only doing gravel or bare bottom
I wouldn't mind a small fitted tank only at most 20g. Something I could house a ton of plants in and keep a school of like 20 neons or cardinal tetras. Maybe some small decorative shrimp and an otocinclus for help with maintenance.
yea 40 gallon breeder is the smallest tank i own,i hate small tanks with a passion.no room for mistakes in those small of tanks.i think in my 10 years ive killed more fish in small tanks like that.on a different note im proud to say that in ten years of fish keeping i think ive had ich like 3 times total.never had any of the weird stuff.hith,fungus,popeye,none of it..my 12 yo jack dempsey was basically how i learned about the hobby and cichlids. he died of old age about a week ago..his body just shut down finally
Well that's sad to hear. Yeah I never had anything worse then ich except with my original breeder male FH (Jr.) Sadly ended up mis-diognosing his swim bladder issue for constipation. By the time I had the proper tools at hand it was already too late and I lost my big baby boy. Still bring tears to my eyes thinking about him. Grew him out from a .5in baby covered in ich from Petco into a big 10in mean biter of a fish. Lol had to either use a barrier or a chainmail glove just to clean the tank. Still planning on getting him mounted at some point, he's the only fish that I'll ever do that for.
