need Id and possible treatment

I can read just fine, I was inquiring about your filter maintenance bc it could have been something you might not have thought could cause a problem...like rinsing all your media under tap water killing your BB and starting a mini cycle.

Im not saying you don’t know what you are doing when it come to fish husbandry, but 10 years of fish keeping doesn’t equal quality knowledge....if someone is doing something incorrectly for 10 years and not yielding the desired results, when the person asks for help and then when some points out the thing being done wrong for so long you just spew at them youve got 10 years experience so no it’s not this or that..it just doesn’t help anyone trying to help you....In no way am I trying to accuse you of poor husbandry....the more information you can provide on your tank the better.that is why I ask all the questions

I actually do think you have problems with your water quality....ammonia in the water is not good. Do you have a way to test for the different types of ammonia? Nh3 and nh4? Nh3 is free ammonia and is highly toxic to fish

seachem makes a great sensor that detects nh3. It’s also fairly inexpensive.

also, free ammonia is more dangerous at high PH ranges and in higher temper ranges.

low ph can affect your BB, at a ph of 6 that is when you start to or can start to lose BB in your filter so my next question would be when did you take the ammonia test? After a water change or before a water change? How often are you testing for ammonia? Are you seeing higher spikes in ammonia?

I’m not trying to insult you, just trying to help you with your situation (the one you asked about)

Almost all the questions u asked was answered in the first post when I said (the only thing in my tank that has changed in anyway is new fish)
I tested the water b4 and after wc 3 separate times even bought a new water testing kit. I do not have all those fancier water tests. Just the basic ones. If my 3 spectate tests all say the water is good I have no reason to believe other wise I’m even useing a 250 gallon canister filter for a 125 gallon tank with a 75 gallon hob filter as well my water is well filtrated. As far as the I could have been doin the wrong thing for 10 years. Most ppl that spend 150-400$ a fish usually Has learned not to do the wrong thing. If u think it’s my water then ok that’s fine. But I truly believe it came from a new fish that I didn’t quarantine. My ammonia has not went past what I stated previously. I no ammonia period is not good but I no for a fact that low of a lvl will not do this to a fish in that size of a tank. As far as my ph goes it is now at 6.5 has not gone above that.
 
Ammonia alert, about $10.....seems like something worth splurging on if it can save your hundreds of dollars worth of fish...not too fancy.

the money you spend on a fish still does not mean an aquarist is capable of providing proper care for that fish.D3957747-4EC2-4843-90C2-D3A3DC729B1D.jpeg

how are your fish currently doing? Has the water changes been helping at all? Cloudy eye can heal pretty quickly

2 have died. 1 still looks bad the rest look better so I guess w and salt helped some of them
