I can read just fine, I was inquiring about your filter maintenance bc it could have been something you might not have thought could cause a problem...like rinsing all your media under tap water killing your BB and starting a mini cycle.Ok first off I didn’t answer the filter maintenance question because I havnt cleaned my filter as I stated in the first only thing that had changed in my tank is new fish were added. Second off every other question u asked I had already stated the answer to in my first post as well. Seems to me like u didn’t read it well cause I had to repeat myself. Thirdly u seem reluctant to accept that maybe I am a good fish keeper and just want to blame my husbandry like I don’t no what I’m doin. I triple tested my water just for u the third test results are ph 6.0 ammonia 0.25 I know good and well that low of a lvl does not cause a issue nitrite 0 nitrate5.0
Now when I say I have checked everything and checked it again and that is not the problem then I no that’s not the problem iv been keeping fish for over 10 years I’m not a newbie I no what the problem is it’s new fish that I didn’t quarantine. I didn’t ask what caused this I asked what it is a iD on it so I can treat it. Stop tryin to blame my husbandry
Im not saying you don’t know what you are doing when it come to fish husbandry, but 10 years of fish keeping doesn’t equal quality knowledge....if someone is doing something incorrectly for 10 years and not yielding the desired results, when the person asks for help and then when some points out the thing being done wrong for so long you just spew at them youve got 10 years experience so no it’s not this or that..it just doesn’t help anyone trying to help you....In no way am I trying to accuse you of poor husbandry....the more information you can provide on your tank the better.that is why I ask all the questions
I actually do think you have problems with your water quality....ammonia in the water is not good. Do you have a way to test for the different types of ammonia? Nh3 and nh4? Nh3 is free ammonia and is highly toxic to fish
seachem makes a great sensor that detects nh3. It’s also fairly inexpensive.
also, free ammonia is more dangerous at high PH ranges and in higher temper ranges.
low ph can affect your BB, at a ph of 6 that is when you start to or can start to lose BB in your filter so my next question would be when did you take the ammonia test? After a water change or before a water change? How often are you testing for ammonia? Are you seeing higher spikes in ammonia?
I’m not trying to insult you, just trying to help you with your situation (the one you asked about)
duanes has given good advise.
I wish you luck with the recovery of your fish.
