I just cured my severum of Fin Rot on my red spotted severum now it looks as if it’s scales are fading and losing color what could this be and how can I fix it. Same thing is happening with my Gold severum but on a smaller scale. Water levels all good do weekly 25% water changes. 63C90DE8-01E0-413B-A654-C5330515DD7F.jpeg3CC44F52-5B3F-4FDE-9B0B-E00ED0084DBD.jpeg

Could be just stressed. What’s ur ph and temp?

Oh wow my PH is sky high at 8.4, temp is 78F. I also have a Jack Dempsey and Firemouth in the tank with the 2 severums, what would be the best Ph level to get my tank down to?

Id watch out for aggression. I’d keep the ph below 7 preferably and keep it stable.

Sounds good I’ll get it to 6.8. The only aggression in the tank is the Red Severum chasing the Gold which I may need to address soon and the JD occasionally shooing others away from his territory.

I bought Proper PH 7 to get the Ph down??
I suggest not using any chemicals for PH.
If your PH is coming out of the tap in the high 7 or 8 range you should reconsider the stock you have or invest in a R/O unit also natural items like Tanins will help. Chemicals are difficult to control so you must know what to do and how to use them.

Fish won’t like it. It won’t be stable.
