New Brokopondo vs. Farmie Genetic Slurry ?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Funny everybody is saying temensis mix as wes and I had a conversation about a year ago about how they were releasing tems into the reservoir and possible hybridization was occurring between the two species causing these mutations in patterns. Those azul/tem hybrids are orinos. Retard vendors just call them tems because of the spots at juvenile stages, most orinos from the Rio meta and Rio inirida have them at juvenile sizes and lose them as they mature. Your broko hybrids should look nice none the less, just keep updating the progress over the course of a year.

One Still pretty skinny looking - seem very shy... keeping lights off..

What’s the consensus on putting on weight in qt vs adding to main group - after qt period... they would probably feel more secure in a group? And hopefully learn an eating habit...

I’d presume they have only been “in country”

for less than 2 weeks...

The group in the big tank is slowly getting to all pellet/krill diet - the two kels are on the bloodworms still...

My kels looked like this when I got them as far as size and body shape. They are gonna be fine. No worries.

1/2 accepting krill - I don’t think the skinny one has ate more than a few feeders since he’s been here....

at what point does the pellet or die come in? Has anyone actually had a fish starve to death? I’m hopeful seeing the other guy take krill this morning.

otherwise doing well in the 625g with the other 7 bass, one black arow, L14, and L114

The tsn went to live at another’s house as I don’t have a pond for him at this moment...and was only a matter of time before he ate a little Kelberi

dr exum dr exum One of my Tems starved itself for 3 weeks when it was 6-7 inches and it didn't die (extremely skinny though). Even after it started eating the food sticks it did so begrudgingly and was the smallest of the bunch.

they are both eating krill now in with the main group,

1/2 of the two kels will eat massivore off the bottom occasionally, I’ve stopped feeding massivore as the TSN went to another home and I’m without a real bottom feeder at the moment other than the sun cat that comes out in low light and is quite quirky... trying to shoal with the bass... think it annoys them more than anything... and L114/L600 and L14 stay hidden...

I would prazi the tank, I don’t think predatory fins properly quarantines/de worms fish before selling they import and sell right away. I asked them on some kels they brought in from Asia never responded back to me. Maybe the skinny one will bounce back, what temp is the tank set at? I would increase the temp to 88 degrees and add salt with the prazi. If you can’t find prazi I would get api general cure it has both prazi and metro in it great for de worming doesn’t affect the filtration. Good luck

Temp is at 80,

they are flashing occasionally... I did add 8#’s of salt for that... and torn up fins.

I have prazi for only 480g. I can get more when stores open..

that’s a good tip , another member stated they treat all their fish in QT on the way in...
