What’s wrong with my planted tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Perhaps some CO2..? Wouldn't necessarily need a mega expensive pressurised tank.. There are plenty of cheap biological reaction setups put there - I've just set one up myself and very happy with it.
Right now I’m mostly going for a low tech set up so I feel like co2 is a little too advanced for me (this is my first planted tank lol so I’m okay with the trial and error). I am dosing a minute amount of excel (liquid carbon) to help stimulate the plant growth

Fair enough. I'm actually starting a low tech planted setup myself (the African river biotope thread in this forum). All I'd say is, in my humble opinion, all plants benefit from co2. Be it a super complicated high light setup... or a low tech one like ours.

But of course, many plants can do fine without.. it as proved by another member in your thread with their lush tank without co2!

Yeah hopefully in the future co2 is on my mind! I did see your thread and it’s coming along great! Looking forward to more updates ?
