You know, the orange spotted would make a fine addition for a 75g. They don't get quite as large as the black spotted. But they have striking patterns and a nice black and orange contrast.

Also, ive had experience with 2 different orange spotted eels. Both were super social and personable. My orange spotted eel lets me pick him up or grab him all the time.
 
M MaDMatt I really like them but I dont know where I would fined one I have been looking for spiny eels in my area and I have seen peacock eels fire eels and tire track eels and somtimes black spots pop up what about zig zag eels in the wild they get big but how big will they get in aquariums I have seen anything from 12"-20"-36"

The zigzag (tiretrack) eel will get about as big as a fire eel, which is anywhere between 24" to 36" plus

Peacock eels stay about 8 inches and are very pretty. Have you considered buying one offline? I've bought several spiny eels from the wetspot online store. Never had any issues. Its expensive because of shipping tho... they do the next day thing
 
I think a black spotted for sure would be fine in a 125g. Thats not much smaller than a 180. Perfect size

But keep in mind the orange spotted will get bigger than 12 inch too.

Its been my experience that the orange spotted eel is very sociable and personable

The black spotted is too tho. But not as much. But anytime im near the tank the black slotted is out and about begging for food

I've got a common pleco with my 5 eels in the 180. Ive never seen him attatch to the eels. Honestly I rarely see the pleco at all lol

Ah I forgot youre in canada. If you've got a black spotted in store near you go for it!

125 is enough for a black spotted. Probably more than enough and they're great eels
