Possible Intestinal Worms In Mbuna

Won’t work with possible worms like this.

I haven't gotten an answer to what kind of parasitic worms they could possibly be so idk how thats reliable.

With worms I've had great luck with prazipro, but I don't have mbuna cichlids so I can't say how well it would work with them

Look up nematodes and round worm. Levamisole, fenbendazole, or flubendazole are the treatments for it.

Prazipro can be used to treat internal cestodes or tapeworms, which are seen within fecal samples under a microscope. It's generally used more for external parasites.

Since you can see the worm, go with any of the first 3 that I listed. Fenbendazole has to be consumed to work.

Sometimes diet will cause me this as well. Would try and change up what it’s eating if feeding freeze dried and frozen foods. If still there then I’d try feeding hex-shield.

It should but it depends on what’s the underlying cause. If it’s stress from other fish then not stopping the stress may continue what’s going. Or it’ll get better then restart again.

Gotcha. What are usually signs to look for if its internal parasites ?
