Built it this way simply becouse i want it to be rock solid. Rather pay a bit more in material, if it makes me sleep better at night ? i have seen fiber glass tanks with cracks in it. I already got this liner, so decided to use it instead of resin and fiberglass. Will have a layer of plastic foam under the liner. Just to be extra save. And a liner are much stronger then many will think. Just avoid putting sharp or heavy stones directly to the liner.Looks great!
I keep going back and forth on a plywood build. I was going to then I decided not to then I started thinking I should again.....lol.
IDK.
Wondering if you'd be so kind as to explain why you are building this the way you are? I see you are going liner, why not epoxy? What made you decide to fashion the support walls the way you did?
I can't wait to see this beast up and running. The glass attachment will be interesting too!

The frame will prevent the liner to stretch and slide. also the glue sticks really good at the stainless steel. And the weight of the glass will be on the frame, instead of the liner.
Will update you as i come this far
By using a frame like this, screw from inside and using sealant between liner and frame, and between frame-glass it will be outstanding? One reason I haven't looked into the liner was because I thought there was no way to have a window.
So the horizontal support is better then vertical (like a traditional wall)? I've seen other builds like this but usually much older threads no longer active. I feel the same as you on the support. The area I'm thinking of building mine is restrictive in size. Anything I do to reinforce the framing needs to save space as it will eat up internal dimensions to a point where it won't be cost effective to build. (I'm only talking 500g at most)
I will have it almost filled up with water.I have used custom made liners successfully but they will shrink significantly and will need to be replaced if allowed to dry out. So always keep at least a quarter or third full of water. Just something to keep in mind.
Also it is very hard to catch fast fish in big tanks against a dark or black background/bottom. Even with a seine net.

Then i have to be toughtfull about what fish goes in the tank, so i dont have to catch any again?
