Is this corner the same level as the rest of the top shelf?
Do I need to put a board on top of that thing?

The shelf lengt and dept is exactly the size of the aquarium, meaning that it would sit on the corners as well.
Do I need something bigger in this case?

No, the corner posts sit just a little proud of the shelf. DMD123 DMD123 Where are you?

Hm... he seems to have put a board on top of it.
Does it have to be any special board? Does it matter if the middle is not supported? do I need to put something in the middle to match the corders height?

Can I re-use the top board from my current aquarium stand?

I wonder if I can hook some hinges onto that yellow thing and make doors from ikea spacers.
That would match the kitchen part of the appartment (only the bedroom and the bathroom are "closed spaces") and would look less ugly.

Try uline for other steel rack options. Big thing with them that will cost you is shipping.

That's at least double the price of Dewalt... My aquarium was $400, their minimum price is $500 and something... plus shipment... that's abit too much.

Also, everything is either 2 inches short or 10 inches too long.
I don't have those 10 inches since if I take them, the parrot tree won't fit next to the fish tank.

Current parrot tree location is far from optimal and can't stay where it is as a permanent location :(
Note, picture is old. There's much less space between the counter and the aquarium now since kitchen was expanded.

Aquarium is 50x18.

Just saw your tag fishguy1978 fishguy1978 .

Yes I am using the Dewalt racking. I bought two kits, one with steel grid and one with the wood.

Here is my set up, two 90’s across tops and two 65B below. 30 gallon in center.

Post 13 addresses what I did to have an even top. Ran boards through my buddy’s planer and used 3/4” ply across the top.

My mom already had multiple 5-10ish minute conversation with the parrot about what to cook for dinner, when I was living with my parents.
She no longuer asks "yes or no" questions xD
