Is my stand no longuer good?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Post 13 addresses what I did to have an even top. Ran boards through my buddy’s planer and used 3/4” ply across the top.

I'll probably go that way. Can't get a rack locally, it must ship.

The corner with the warped board definitelly feels colder than the rest of the stand... I guess that's a sign of moisture
I guess it never properly dried since it sits in a corder and there's no air circulaltion there. I've put a fan on it. Will get my dad to reinforce the corner until I can get this replaced.

So to be extra sure, if I dried the stand off and straightend the board, this will never be safe to use again simply because it was wet already, thus it's no longuer "perfectly styraight, right?

The stand appears to be made of particle board with a fake wood grain top layer so I would say that you can NOT fix the existing stand.

My mom already had multiple 5-10ish minute conversation with the parrot about what to cook for dinner, when I was living with my parents.
She no longuer asks "yes or no" questions xD

Hum... I'm now confused after watching it... I believe the cultural difference is too great for me to find this funny unfortunatelly.
My parrot is more like the cockatoo from Rio. Loves chicken and murder?

Where are you from?

Where are you from?

That's complicated...

My family has russian origins. However, my parents emigrated all over the place during my childhood/teen years.
I don't fully understand any culture actually, not even the russian one (specially the current one, my parent transmitted me some soviet things).

It makes it hard for other people to show acceptance towards me.
The first thing people do to try to make you feel accepted is to do something from your culture (say a word, cook a dish, talk about "your" culture, etc) and you're like... "Thank you, but please stop. The effort is not worth it cuz... hum... I don't identify with this... and this things of "my" culture are stupid... and I hate the taste of the dish (you didn't cook it wrong, it's just gross for me)... and... I've never read any books from Dostoyevskiy "

I've also been asked by Russians where I'm from and told that I speak russian very well.?‍♀️
I also can pretend being a latina by speaking spanish. Regardless my very slavic appearance, works every time, nobody suspects anything ever ?
Doesn't work with other cultures since I have an accent in the rest of the languages, but I'm working on it :evil_lol:

Well, Welcome to the forum. Glad to have you here and to answer your questions.

That stand is made of particle board so if takes on water, it will swell and distort. It’s not a solid piece of wood so there’s no saving or reusing that old stand or top. You should get thick plywood as the top for new stand. Would be better if you painted it to protect from the water as well

hm... would steel work as top for the stand? Like, if I got a welder and he welded the stand, some "cross beams" and slapped a sheet of steel on the top instread of the playwood?

Also,is there anything I should coat the top so it doesn't rust?
