Yeah this can happen with most any sort of fish that forms a pair thru bonding. Granted this can be used to your advantage as well if you decide that ya want to pair em up with other fish.

Hopefully yours gets the whole parenting thing down right. It generally takes a few tries or more before ya can tell if they're going to be good parents or not. Generally I look for small improvements in how they do things every spawn because generally if they continue to improve they will become good parents but if they show no improvement they probably just weren't ment to be together so to speak lol.
very valuable; well i prolly messed up that pair then damnit. just when i get the hang of something another goes wrong lol illl keep you posted for sure

Don’t worry about it. Sometimes things go wrong, best you can do is try again (assuming the pair is still compatible).

If they paired up once there a good chance they'll do so again. They'll just need to start the bonding process over again and hope that things turn out better then last time.
