KH is buffering capacity. It determines how difficult it is to lower your PH. If your KH is below 4 degrees, your PH will drop during the week due to nitrifying bacteria.

GH is general hardness

PH is the measure of how basic or acidic your water is.

wait but doesn't water with a higher ph generally, have a higher hardness too? That's what I was taught in science class, not saying you guys are wrong.

There are exceptions, like near agricultural areas. The water will have a PH of 8.0, but really soft water. The fertilizer runoffs increases the water table PH.
