Self explanatory title, getting some at 1.5 inch and wondering if I can ask the seller to get me a sexed group.
Any chance of collecting some of these different variants? That would be neat to see.By the way there are a number of color/location variants of P panamense.
Back in the early 90s I had a pair, caught closer to the sea that was almost a solid pink (lost the photos), compared to the more mottled variant (like the photos above).
I got mine at around that size or slightly bigger (2”) and asked the same question to the seller. They sent me a larger and smaller fish that turned out to be male and female but was a bit of a guess. Best bet is to buy five or six. Better chance to get a pair. Mine never bred but did show breeding colors for the two years I had them.Self explanatory title, getting some at 1.5 inch and wondering if I can ask the seller to get me a sexed group.
As soon as Panama's lockdown lets up, its my ambition to hit some of the spots.Any chance of collecting some of these different variants? That would be neat to see.

I went to Chepo and the Tuira River (where some are endemic) during a brief Covid opening a while back, but it was the rainy season, and the river and even small tributaries were raging.
They supposedly share waters near Chepo, with Isthmoheros tuyrensis, Darienheros calebrense, and Geophagus crassilabrus all on my wish list.
