Algea eaters

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Probably no bigger than a quarter inch, maybe half for a five one. Snake may pick a couple off every now and then.

Cut your light time and do larger water changes take care of the filters. Also cut back on feeding that will help control algae.
This ^ is very good advice. Algae eaters IME don't do a whole lot for algae removal. A sponge or scrubby is typically the best method and it only takes a few minutes. I usually scrub out my algae every couple of weeks, more or less depending how bad it is.

I wouldn’t expect eggs from nerites, as they cannot breed in freshwater. I’m not sure if they are hermaphrodites or not.
I was just looking into Nerites for a project and got info from a keeper. While you will not get them reproducing in a freshwater tank, they still do lay eggs. You will get these clearish little packets of eggs on surfaces... which is harder to clean off than the algae itself, lol

Sankehead also love heavy planted setup, just add more plants and soon you will have an algae free tank like my little tank (extreme heavy bio load, heavy planted tank with 0 algae issue)
