This ^ is very good advice. Algae eaters IME don't do a whole lot for algae removal. A sponge or scrubby is typically the best method and it only takes a few minutes. I usually scrub out my algae every couple of weeks, more or less depending how bad it is.Cut your light time and do larger water changes take care of the filters. Also cut back on feeding that will help control algae.
I was just looking into Nerites for a project and got info from a keeper. While you will not get them reproducing in a freshwater tank, they still do lay eggs. You will get these clearish little packets of eggs on surfaces... which is harder to clean off than the algae itself, lolI wouldn’t expect eggs from nerites, as they cannot breed in freshwater. I’m not sure if they are hermaphrodites or not.
