Please help me my fishes act strange and may die.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I haven’t heard of medicine bringing out aggression, but it does seem possible.
Gouramis aren’t the most pleasant fish, they are territorial by natur, but won’t go killing like some of their cousins. As it grows, it likely will start getting into fights with the other gourami.

Thanks. I was expecting the other way around. thinking puffers having teeth would be more aggressive and stronger. I will keep an eye on him.

Fig 8 might be mean but amazons aren’t really aggressive. Sets them apart from almost every other puffer species. Amazons don’t do much more than occasional nips IME. In a fight the puffer could win, but amazons don’t go looking. Gourami will follow and harass, like a betta or paradise fish (close cousins). Size is a big difference too. The gourami maxes out larger than the puffers.

Do you think the tank I have (32.5 G) is small for these Fishes I have?
9 Neon Tetra
2 sunset platy
2 three spot gourami
2 Bristlenose Pleco small sizes
2 Rubber Lip Albino Bushy Nose Plecos
3 Amazon Puffers
1 Figure 8 Puffer

before medication all of them were living in peace.

The gouramis, fig 8, and 3 of the plecos probably need to go.
Gouramis too mean to risk with puffers (labyrinth fish and puffers don’t mix well).
Fig 8 brackish.
Only need one pleco and are waste machines.

new update. After I feed the fishes and poured the third day dose of medication, my amazon puffers bellies look larger than normal. please see image below. I do not know if it is because of medication or whether they ate too much. Can you tell?

also you can see from photo that white spots are all over their body and third day medication completed. I hope by next week they will be cured :)

So what do I do with the exceed fishes, specially now that they have the parasite? I cannot kill them. I know that pet shop also wont be mixing them with their own fish, so probably they are expendables. it makes me feel sad, if I know they will be discarded. anyone want them for free, I can deliver in Zealand Denmark.

Get a much bigger tank that is at least 246L (or go bigger), and convert your 123L into a brakish tank for the figure 8

Thanks Rocksor. if I get 246L and change it to brakish. but with brakish water tank, can my other fishes also live in the same brakish tank?

Also, I recently bought this piece of furniture for 100 bucks. from 1950s real wood stand for my 123L tank. Can this stand still support 246L? it is real solid wood.
