It’s a rift cichlid tank and that’s a good idea but unfortunately plants would just be a buffet for my fish.Why not use natural controls like plants? You can add Bolbitus, Anubius or Java fern which can all be attached to drift wood or rocks. You could do crypts, val or sag which will all grow in hard water. I have N. Multies and grow anubius and crypts in their tank.

Oh ok, thanks I’ll look into itI would try anubius. I have a hobbyist out here in Washington that keeps it in his Tropheus tanks. I have successfully kept it in tanks with Malawi cichlids before.
