Most all atf dont make it into adulthood. Careless keepers or uneducated ones usually dont have any that are capable of reaching adult sizes. I believe they can get pretty big given the appropriate size and shaped tank, food supply and care! I've been able to achieve this thru following certain rules and any choice in livestock comes with the atf in mind first.

I didn't think it was a datnoid, but I can't see keeping ANY fish with a goliath tiger fish which is why I was wondering.
I’ve seen them at a lfs at 14” and they were freaking expensive lol. Beautiful fish but not a fan of them
I have a few him. Goonch, pr of irwini, wolf, poly, and a 11 yr old flagtail he seems to not care to much about. All the fish mentioned above are 18"++... some 2ft+
