Flower horns are genetically modified, as well as blood parrots. They carry this big lump on their head, that probably weighs as much as them. I think that’s in humane, but the personality is awesome!why not just get a fh![]()
Now i'm NOT saying this is normal,i don't speak flowerhorn so i have no idea if they are in 'constant pain' or not.The previous link doesn't appear to be working since the latest upgrade, so I wanted to add some photos of Ken's F1 A. citrinellus that he got years ago from Jeff Rapps. Glad I saved these pics. The nuchal hump on this fish still blows me away.

There are just as many flowerhorn with a very proporational nuchal hump that doesn’t get in there way. They aren’t genetically modified they are hybridized and linebred. There is also a thread one here where a guy breeds vieja synspilum to amphilphus citrinellus and the f1 fry are blood parrots. I’m not a fan of deformities like an oversized kok or deformed mouth. That’s why you cull but many desire some of these deformities so what can you do?Flower horns are genetically modified, as well as blood parrots. Well yes good reason is they aren’t naturally occurring your right they are man made. There are, but I don’t really like the look of them anyway, no offense to anyone who has them. They just don‘t seem natural for good reason.
I get that. Just keep doing what’s working and nothing should go wrong unless it’s a freak accident. Have a good waterchange schedule that keeps nitrates under 20ppm. Quality Pellet-only diet. Don’t overfeed. Rinse filter media in tank water not tap water before waterchange once every 1-2 months. Gravel vac a couple times a month or as needed.Lately everything’s been going so good with daisy but now for some reason I got a strong feeling that something bad is going to happen soon.
Yea I got it all wrote down for my weekly schedule but feel like a freak accident is going to happen. Don’t know why but I just got that feeling. Usually when I get these feelings I’m right too.I get that. Just keep doing what’s working and nothing should go wrong unless it’s a freak accident.
