How big should I go?

A lot of these people humanize fish, like saying keeping a fish in too small of a tank is like a person living in a closet. 15 sens or other smaller polys are fine in a4x2x2
A lot of these people think keeping a fish in to small of a tank is cruel and not very fair. I'm pleased to see there are a few of these people about.
I see so many humped backed goofy eyed arowana about. Reason being, about 90% of owners can't accommodate for them.

With that logic, keeping a fish Thats 3-4’ in a tank is cruel period. Unless it’s a tank the size of a pool. Especially something like an arrowana that is an active, open water swimmer. How many of the fish keepers that say it’s cruel to keep an aro in a 300g also go fishing? Catching a fish with a hook and letting it die or killing it in a horrible way. I believe in taking care of my pets, but thinking a fish will be miserable in a 300, but happy in a 500 is straight BS

I don't fish and I've not given a size recommendation one way or another. My personal belief is fish like arowana are to easily accessible to the casual keeper that has little empathy for the the fish or how it spends its entire life.
I also feel that people that suggest these smaller tank sizes are contributing to the death of the hobby. These large fish in tight quarters only give organisations like PETA weight to their argument in the case of unfair living conditions for captive fish.

You're getting it wrong. The fish will be less miserable in a 500 than it would in a 300 is the point.
BTW I suggested a 10*4*2 which is about 600 gallons so, it's like double of what you suggest if you know the math. I think an Oscar will be less miserable in a 110 than in a 55

Know what stanzz it's not worth to prove them the point. It's meaningless 8 pages of thread worthless.
