I just checked and it looks like it would fit around the big tube part of the siphon but unless you can remove the threads from a hose I’d have to cut them off and I don’t think I have an extra hose laying around for this.

Yeah I've been using one for a year now,I hook it up to a 250g pump to drain faster.

With the python, time is money. Definitely worth it and saves both time and pain. It also makes cleaning gravel easier.
As for the bump on top, sounds like the spine.

I’ll talk to my mom about it on the car ride tomorrow to the petstore. Should I worry about this bump thing? He’s always had it but what is it from? Just a natural deformity or do most to all FH have this at a young age? Could it possibly shorten lifespan?

I wouldn’t worry about it. Not sure if it’s on all of them, but I think it is just how it develops and is more noticeable on him for whatever reason.

Well my flowerhorn always has been a bit different than others lol. He has a super slow reaction time too which is just hilarious especially sometimes during feeding when he gets confused on where the pellet went. Would rabbit snails or mystery snails be better for FH tank?

If you can convince my mom that’s it’s worth it then I’m all in lol. I been tryna get one for weeks now but my mom says that using the bucket is just as good, I don’t think she realizes how much I do and what this fish actually means to me. Tomorrow I’ll be looking for a tubing that at least reaches out my window so that way I can siphons it all outside and only have to carry the bucket back and forth while refilling the tank.

I can’t really convince your mom that is up to you. But imo that is ignorant of her. It is far more easier and efficient. Lugging buckets around is very old school now. It will last many years so the cost=value is very very good. You will have explain why to her and be persistent in telling her about it especially if she is buying Red Devils without telling you and adding them to your tank she should be able to help you invest in equipment that takes care of those fish.
