Im new to keeping channa please help!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I would give him more cover and dim the lights ,do you happen to know the source which the gachua came from? I heard most C.gachua in the Uk are sub tropical but there are tropical variants aswell.
No I don't know im afraid.

It looks like some extra slimecoat production and not fungus. I’d just increase ur water changes and monitor. If it’s a try sub tropical fish then you’ll need to keep ur temps adjusted. Keep an eye out on behavior.

Thanks bud ill take your words into consideration and I'll find out if its sub tropical. I'll try the lightly salty water anyway as I heard it won't harm the fish.

Hi guys an update for my channa gachua. Today I noticed he is rapidly rubbing his body against the gravel. I have started adding salt to the tank but only yesterday. Is there anything else I can do to help the poor guy?

How's it doing now?
Its behaviour seems normal, he eats quite aggressively and hasn't denied any food yet. The white patches are appearing on the other side of the body. I have added 3 tea spoons of aqualibrium salt (from my lfs) in the last 3 days.
