I have a red maple tree in my backyard and currently setting up a tiny half gallon shrimp tank and wondering if it’s safe to take a stick or two from the tree, strip it, boil it and stuff and add it as a mini driftwood look for the tank.

You asked this question in your thread. Why did u make another seperate thread asking the same thing?

Yes
It also produces red tannins so expect your tank to look like part of the scene of a murder

Need to use dried wood, branches that dropped off like six months ago or so. Don't use a branch that are still green. If it bends in half instead of breaking then it's still green.
The tree has been here longer than this house and has a bunch of dead branches In it so I’ll climb a bit and get down a a dead branch and lick my mini driftwood from that.

This is extremely important to remember.
