I got a piece of mopani wood the other day and currently soaking and boiling it. I soak it overnight and boil it all day long. Are there any better ways to do this.
I agree, some aquarists go to great lengths to keep tannins, due to their anti pathogenic bacteria health benefits.Leave it, it is good for the health your fish.
Never seen bonsaiI’m not a huge fan of mopani wood. U agree with Rocksor u can get spider wood is a good option. Or have u seen the bonsai trees?
The wood is going into the 29g with the bb cats and blind cave tetrasWhich tank is this for? Maybe tannins are natural for the fish in question.
Will the tannins be okay for the cave tetras and bb cats?Leave the tannins. Let them dissipate naturally. Stay on top of your water changes and you will be fine.
It doesn't harm the fish. It naturally reduces stress on fish, even hard water fish like mollies. Will the tannins be okay for the cave tetras and bb cats?
