Then you should have worded your posting different man. I ain't mad or being disrespectful i do take cichla keeping serious. But you should have worded your posting differently. It went in all different directions. You could have easily asked hey i am getting this size mono would tank size tank y'all suggest and thier max size. This way it could have been answered differently. You originally ask size of mono/kels then commented asking tank size. No hard feelings man. Happy Fish Keeping

That's all good mike, yeah just wanted a general discussion, i/m familiar what peacock bass just not monos... nahh i didn't take anything to heart and yes no hard feelings ;) but have to agree happy fish keeping and if that tank works for you and the size of your pbs then that's all good as i don't like people who say this fish needs certain gallons as you could say a 10 gallon and that could mean 1.5 m by 10cm by 15 cm or a regular 10 gal...

In reference to what a fish needs. Now if you were to straight up ask hey what size tank for a 20"+ mono. I would have replied just one mono or what's the other fish etc. Everything plays a part when housing fish. For some species even a 6x2x2 is to small. If someone really wanted to get into pushing the cichla to the biggest they can get em i would say 6x3x3 or 8x3x3. But for someone that's getting smaller monos to grow out and only keep a couple a 120 is perfectly fine. So as you can see, Fish size needs to be specific when asking about a tank size. Hope this makes sense.

Just settle that EVERYONE HAS DIFFERENT VIEWS ON TANK SIZES.

if they are able to breed in that tank, consider them thriving

We're all good man, Good ol discussion about fish keeping. Kinda got derailed imo questions weren't to specific enuff but eventually got the answers out there. My monos (1m 2f) I get a spawn every 2 weeks in my 120. Also by having a open discussion it gives two different insights for those that are reading and hopefully learn or maybe even question something we may have said. This is how we all learn ??
