Why should I get a python water changer?

Convince me why or why not to get a python water changer. I'm doing them by the bucket for 5 different tanks. I know its easier, but what benefits come with it.

It's waayyyyyy easier, saves time, and doesn't make you ache....and your fellow fishkeepers won't laugh at you anymore!

Well, for one you won't be splashing around hauling buckets of water back and forth.
My mom always gets pissed when there is random fish water on the way to the bathroom lol

Hmmmmm. If it saves time, that’s good. But that second part really makes me want to buy it.

Does anyone know if it wastes water in any way?

It only wastes water if you are using the Python pump hooked up to the sink and have the faucet turned on when you want to drain your tank. Most people just drain the water outdoors or to a tub or shower that is lower than the tank.

Go to their website and look at their video that explains how to use it.

Do be aware that YOUR faucet may or may not have a removable aerator so check that out first before buying one.

What everyone else said. The speed of large, frequent water replacements with Python is mindboggling - I used to bucket 10% once a week on my 473 liter, but when I find a good Python it will go up to 25% twice a week in a very comparable timeframe (I calculated it with trial runs) and much less work or spilling.

Python is a waste of money and water. A garden hose can do the same, better, and cheaper. To start the siphon, fill the hose from the faucet and submerge the other end in the tank water. Hooking up a quick disconnect at the faucet end and a wide mouth tube at the suction end will help.
