A couple of months ago I managed to get a deal on a Senegal Bichir for $200 which is super cheap for one in Australia. He has now completed his quarantine and I have added him to the new tank.
The tank is 2.5ft x 2ft x 2ft.
End stocking will be an African butterfly fish, my Bichir and maybe a school of a smaller species of Congo tetra.

acclimating him to the new tank. Measured him. He’s currently 14 cm.

Loving the cave system I made.

Looking good! I have 4 of them. I recommend getting a few more, they like to hang out with each other. One of my favorite upper jaw Bichir!
Thanks! I'd love to get more, however they cost quite a bit, I only got the deal because I have good relations with the store owner and I brought in a ton of fish to the shop.

The small stones are river sand.

I like to use the river sand because it is more natural, and I figured he would be ok because he is an upper jaw species of bichir.

Man I wish my tank was as big as yours. With a 40B the only Bichir I can have are the CB Albino Senegals. Wish I could get a wild type. Your tank looks great ! Hope all your fish grow healthy and happy.
Thanks mate!
