What's wrong with my juvenile (1.5") T.meeki?
For the last 5days it's stopped eating, has been doing stringy poos and it's mouth is permanently open. It's mouth has been opening wider and wider over the last few days, to begin with it was gasping a lot (mouth was opening wide and almost fully closing rapidly) but it's now at the point where it is constantly fully open.
About 4 weeks ago I dosed the tank with Esha ndx (10ml) as I had a small skinny Swordtail that was not gaining any weight and producing lots of stringy white poop, after 3 days I performed a 90% water change and added carbon to the filter, a few days later and the Swordtails poo looking as it should. After 3weeks I noticed the firemouth had stringy poo so I removed the carbon and performed the second 10ml dose of ndx, this time I left it 36ish hours and then performed a 80% WC and added carbon to the filter. The meeki was still not looking good so I decided to feed magnesium sulphate soaked pellets for the last 4days but sadly I've not seen it eat anything. The meeki didn't seem to react very well to the ndx, they constantly hid, were skittish and didn't eat much whilst the meds were in the water, the Swordtails on the other hand didn't show any signs off discomfort or stress. Could the ndx (Levamisole) have caused internal damage to this little meeki?
The tank is a 240l juwel Rio, with 9 meeki, 7 swordtails and 1 bristlenose. I feed hikari cichlid gold, hikari algae wafers and blanched courgette and as of a week ago I began feeding NLS Thera a+ pellets and frozen krill (once a week). My pH is 7.8, KH 10 and GH 20.
